Getting started

Create your Stockovaa account

What the signup form asks for, what happens after you press the button, and how long it takes before you can sign in.

The signup form is one page. It asks for Business name, Your full name, Phone number, which is optional, Email address, Your web address, Password and Password again. Then you choose Monthly or Yearly and pick a plan.

Two of those are worth slowing down for. Your login details and every receipt go to the email address, so check it before you continue. And your web address cannot be changed later.

Your web address is the part in front of the Stockovaa domain. Type yourbusiness and your dashboard becomes yourbusiness.stockovaa.com. It is where you and your staff sign in.

  • Between 3 and 30 characters, lower case letters, numbers or hyphens.
  • It has to start and end with a letter or a number.
  • The screen checks availability while you type and tells you if it is taken.
  • It cannot be changed afterwards. Pick the name you will still want in two years.

You can add your own domain later on a plan that includes it, and the Stockovaa address keeps working alongside it.

It depends on the plan, and the form spells it out on screen before you press anything.

On a paid plan the button reads Continue to payment. You pay for the first month or year, the payment is confirmed with the bank rather than with your browser, then your account is set up and your login details are emailed to you.

On the Free plan the button reads Send my details. Nothing is charged. A member of the Stockovaa team sets the account up by hand, because free accounts are not created automatically, and your login details are emailed to you when it is ready.

So a free account is not instant. If you need to be trading today, start on a paid plan.

After you submit you land on a status page that checks for itself rather than trusting the link you arrived on. It tells you one of a small number of things.

  • Your account is ready, with a button to sign in at your address.
  • We have your details, which is the free and queued case. A person sets it up.
  • That payment did not go through, with a button to try the payment again.
  • This is taking longer than usual, which means keep the page open or check your email.

If you close the page, nothing is lost. The email is the thing to watch for.
