Pay your staff

Payroll in Stockovaa is a record of a payment, not a run you generate and approve. Here is what that means in practice.

HR and payroll is a plan feature. If your sidebar does not show it, your plan does not carry it: open Billing and Subscription, then Change plan, and the screen names the plan that includes it. The pricing page compares all four plans.

There is no payroll run to generate, no approval step and no bulk pay. A payroll record is the payment. You create one per person per payment.

The Status filter offers Paid and Pending, and the screen is honest about what that means: Paid means the amount is above zero, and there is no separate approval step in payroll yet.

  • HRM, then Payroll, then Add Payroll.
  • Set the Date, the Employee, the Account it comes out of, the Amount, the Method and a Note.
  • Read the confirmation block, which reads the person's name, the amount and the account it is taken off.
  • Press Submit.

The Method options are Cash, Cheque and Credit Card.

Every payment here is taken off the balance of the account you choose. Deleting one puts it back, so a mistyped amount is fixed by deleting and re-recording rather than by editing the account.

  • Approved overtime is not included in the amount paid out, even though it appears on the payslip. Add it to the amount yourself if you are paying it.
  • Approved leave is counted the next time payroll is generated. Leave approved after the fact does not change a payroll you have already recorded.

Sale agents count towards the same staff limit as your employees, so a business with many agents can reach the employee cap sooner than expected.
